You don’t get a second chance to make a great first impression. If you want people to pay for your product, you need to look like you are worth paying for.

Brand Design is the visual articulation of your brand positioning and often the first exposure that your target audience has to your business.

Overview

Brand Design is the realisation of your brand identity through the individual visual elements of your brand.

Typically this involves the development of a master logo or icon which is the calling card for your brand and a suite of supporting colours, fonts and graphic elements that form a unique visual language for your marketing materials and products.

As with all aspects of brand delivery, the design of your visual brand identity depends heavily on your positioning and proposition to your audience.

We recommend completing Brand Baseline or Brand Compass if you want to get the very most out of your Brand Design.

Outcomes

The outcome of good Brand Design is a cohesive visual language that is uniquely aligned to your brand and easily recognisable to your audience.

Brand Design elements include:

  • A logo and/or icon
  • Colour Palette
  • Typography
  • Sales Decks
  • Website Design
  • UI Design System
  • Social Media Skins
  • Hero Artworks (for advertising)
  • Corporate Templates (letterheads, biz card etc)

These elements are then collated into your final Brand Guidelines document: a comprehensive design rulebook which documents all the elements in play within your visual brand delivery, alongside examples.

The process,
simplified

Our design process is tailored to your needs, depending on how developed your brand already is.

  • Rebrand or refresh your existing brand assets
  • Launching a new company from scratch and require all brand elements created
  • Looking for design assistance on a specific brief

Typically process:

Stage 1:
For most Brand design projects we start with a phase of discovery where we collate all of your existing brand assets and audit your current status across each channel.

Stage 2:
We research your sector and any competitors that are working in the same space, so we can ensure whatever design choices we make truly unique and reflective of your brand positioning.

Stage 3:
We develop design ideas in the form of art direction mood boards.
This provides an opportunity to test drive and agree on the brand style across colours, typography, iconography and imagery; before we begin design.

Stage 4:
Once a single mood board is chosen, we begin developing the core brand elements: logo, colours and typography. Your logo is the calling card for your organisation so we start there and work to create a design that is simple, bold, unique and distinctly you.

These elements are collated into Brand Guidelines for your team to use.

Who benefits
most from this?

All organisations require some level of design from your company logo to your marketing materials.

Your design requirements may depend on your current stage:

  • Start-Up – Just need the design basics to get off the ground
  • Raising capital – Need to step up the brand identity for investment
  • Growth & business changes – Update the brand or reposition it in the market
  • Launching in new markets – Adaptations for local markets and maintaining consistency across global offices

Common challenges we see:

  • Outgrown the original branding
  • The brand is looking dated
  • Cringe when you look at elements of the brand
  • The brand is inconsistent – across the website, social, marketing materials, sales documents and presentations
  • There are no rules for how the brand should be presented
  • Worried about making design changes

Where we excel?
We are particularly skilled at the process of redesigning a complete brand aesthetic whilst retaining all of the essence of the original brand. This is a very delicate design task that protects long earned brand equity and ensures that your new brand still feels like you.

Ask yourself, is your brand design holding your business back?
